The children of Gartocharn Primary are becoming experts at solving problems in their challenge teams. So, when school reopened on Monday 5th March, it was definitely snow problem!
THINK IT: The children brainstormed ideas for Maths in the snow. 'What maths would we use and what skills would we use?'. The children then voted on their top 3 ideas.
TRY IT and FIX IT: The children rotated around the three chosen activities.
Snow Depth: Investigating and measuring the depth of the snow in different parts of the school grounds.
Sledging: How far can we sledge down the hill?
Snow Sculpture: Build a snow sculpture using 3D shapes. Measure the snow sculpture.
SHARE IT: The children had the opportunity to share with each other before writing back to Peter in the form of a postcard.
